These oilcloth from Vent du Sud, France, are wonderful: you don't have to wash them, just wipe them off with a wet sponge and it will be as new! These oilcloth are made in cotton with a special treatment on them called scotchguard which makes them waterproof and stain resistant. they look great, as regular cotton, much better than those old vynil or plastic tablecloth! For tough stains like wine, tomatoe, wipe it off right away. You can, once in a while, put your oilcloth in the washing machine at warm temp, no bleach. you can even put it in the dryer, low temp, do not overdry it. It can be left outside but remove when it is raining.
